There’s so much fraud in olive oil business. How fo ai find high polyphenol olive oil? I try to buy my olive oils from a local Italian importer, but even that I’m not sure is authentic and high grade.

Yes, olive oil’s a mess. So many fake “extra virgin” bottles out there. Even stuff from Italy can be sketchy.

Here’s how I buy real high-polyphenol oil:

Ask for harvest date (not best before). Fresh = better.

Bitter & peppery taste = high polyphenols.

Over 300mg/kg polyphenols is solid (ask for lab results if possible).

Go for small farms or direct importers who know their stuff.

Keep it cool and dark once opened.

If your importer can’t tell you the polyphenol level or harvest date… big red flag.
